To me… a good editor is a mix between STORYTELLING ABILITY, SPEED, AND TECHNICAL SKILL. My name is Marlon Jones and I’m an AVID & Final Cut Pro editor. I'm a filmmaker and I've also worked in television. My skill set fits in nicely with almost any project. My versatility comes as a direct result of over 15 years experience in the industry. I believe that there's no challenge too difficult, no project to small, or too big, and there's no problem that can't be solved. Teamwork is key, and great leadership is essential. I bring these attributes with me to every venture.
Here’s a bit more detail about my experience. I’m an Emmy Winning Editor and I’m comfortable with Long & short form programming. I’m a true storyteller. Whether supervised or unsupervised, I can put together a project from conception to completion! On several occasions I’ve served as “Creative Director” and I’ve been able to incorporate my DIRECTING AND WRITING skills into most projects. I have an extensive background in docu-style programs, narrative, trailers, advertising spots, TV spots, sizzles, etc. I’ve worked in television for years and quite frequently I’ve served as a “PREDITOR”. I thrive on taking a vision and running with it! I’m also a team player and can fit in anywhere.
